From Tacoronte to Tejina you will drive through large fields with paradise bird flowers – Strelitzi. This is where the local rum Guajiro is produced. A short while and you’re in Bajamar, a little fisher village.

Continue to Punta del Hildalgo, where you will have the option to do a good hike or walking trip in the Anaga mountains.

Later you can drive on back towards Tejina and through Tegueste and El Palomar. After taking a left, you can follow the mountain ridge – the back of the Anaga mountains – here you will enter the huge forest areas.

After passing Las Mercedes (no, not the car manufaturer), you will arraive at the astonishing viewpoint Cruz del Carmen. The view over La Laguna is breath taking. Going a little further and you’ll arrive at another viewpoint Pico del Ingles, from where you will be able to see all the way to Santa Cruz – if the weather is clear.

Continue on towards east reaching Bailadero, from where you will be able to reach the Anaga-peninsula or drive down to San Andres on the east coast.
