In Puerto de la Cruz you will find more than a town, you find the atmosphere and the secrets of Tenerife.

Puerto de la Cruz only has a few beaches, but in Lago de Martiánez you'll find big salt water pools and childrens swimming pools. A good tips is to drive to the Las Teresitas beach on the Anaga-islands. It's an artificial islands with lovely white sand and the most spectacular viewpoints and nature of beauty.
Take a trip to Taganana, the charming and lovely small town on the coast.

The beautifull valley of Orotova where the bananas are found all year round is definetly worth a visit too.

You'll find many shops both in Puerto de la Cruz and the capital Santa Cruz.
Behind the square, Plaza del Charco, you'll find the old town where you can exprerience some of the old Canary atmosphere with charming buildings that look to fall over anytime.
In the evenings Avenida de Colón, the boardwalk of Puerto de la Cruz, is where the action is. You can experience the roaring ocean and here you'll find the giant pool area Lago de Martiánez.

Puerto de la Cruz is about 100 km. from the airport and you will find busses, taxies, cars and bikes just outside the terminal.

In short, Puerto de la Cruz is the perfect starting point to explore the northern part of Tenerife.

Puerto de la Cruz is famous for the Tenerife Canival held every year in February. The Carnival is bringing thousands of people to Puerto de la Cruz and this is maybe not the time to visit if you come for the relazing time and mellow surroundings. If you enjoy fun, party and carnival atmostphere, the February os defenitly the time to come to Tenerife and head off to Puerto de la Cruz.
