In the national park you will find the highest mountain in Spain and home of the famous volcano El Teide.
El Teide is with its 3718 m. the highest mountain in Spain and the 3rd largest volcano in the world! El Teide is a part of the national park Las Catadas, which also is the largest park in Spain with well over 3 mio visitors a year.
Many of the visitors are visiting El Teide to experience the lava summit of El Teide, which starts at 2000 m. above sea level.
Teide is not active and there has not been an eruption since 1909. At that time the eruption was not disaterous, but did cause some damage to its surroundings.

Piramides de Guimar is a pyramid-like structure and ethnographic park on the mid-eastern side of Tenerife.
