El Teide is a part of the national park Las Catadas, which also is the largest park in Spain with well over 3 mio visitors a year. Many of the visitors are visiting El Teide to experience the lava summit of El Teide, which starts at 2000 m. above sea level. Teide is not active and there has not been an eruption since 1909. Piramides de Guimar Piramides de Guimar is a pyramid-like structure and ethnographic park on the mid-eastern side of Tenerife.
