Going on holidays to Tenerife is extremely popular, and for very good reason. This small island, located a short distance off the western coast of Morocco, is a treasure trove of sun, sea and sea. Tenerife gets even more sun than the Balearic Islands because of it’s southerly latitude and close proximity to the largest desert in the world, the Sahara. Just as in most northern hemisphere countries, temperatures in Tenerife peak during the summer months and drop down into the balmy but comfortable mid-twenties during the winter months. Choice of accommodation

One of the best things about a holiday to Tenerife is the huge range of accommodation that has made the island retreat so popular with tourists. Whether it is cheap self-catering apartments, half-board hotels or top of the line luxury hotels you’ll find them all here in abundance. There are also plenty of privately owned luxury villas with amazing views over the coast and mountain ranges to the rear.

Getting there

Years ago Tenerife represented the final stage in the hippy trail, an adventure that took travellers all the way down from the UK through France, Spain, Portugal and Morocco to end up in Tenerife. Thankfully, getting to Tenerife from the UK is a lot easier nowadays! There are a multitude of cheap flights to Tenerife on offer via popular low cost carriers such as easyJet and Ryanair. Other major airlines that fly direct from the UK to Tenerife include BMI and British Airways. This wide choice of flights makes Tenerife an affordable destination at any time of the year.
